Gareth Andrews

30 years of operational FM experience leading and managing FM and project delivery teams with BBC, Land Securities & Monteray. Worked at Director level helping to shape and deliver FM strategy whilst with LS & Monteray. Experience of mobilising and de-mobilising PFI FM contracts and delivering capital projects. GACL launched in March 2011 and now have a strong client base. Worked across a number of sectors including Media, Education, Health and Local Government on a wide range of FM assignments. Active member of BIFM currently Chairman of South West Region.

Director of GACL

  • Supporting FM Company with mobilisation of European FM contract across 300 sites in 15 countries.
  • Review, report and tender of ground maintenance contract for UK FM company managing 6500 buildings. Six month assignment.
  • Three month assignment to lead project launching hand held technology to engineering work force.
  • Project management role with university to support delivery of new catering strategy & implement tenant management procedures.
  • Review of FM contracts and first impression audit for University resulting in follow up training and action plan for senior management team.
  • Utilisation study and agile working project for Local Authority to deliver space rationalisation and enable co-location of key partners.

Operational Experience

Monteray Limited - January 2009 – March 2011
Director of Project Management (national). Team of 40.

  • Undertake comprehensive review of supply chain to ensure value for money and improve speed to market. Establishing and leading energy steering group to support client in achieving energy and carbon reduction targets.

Regional Services Director (South Wales & South West) Monteray. Team of 350.

  • 2009-10: Responsible for rationalising all FM services across 1900 buildings in order to deliver a 10% reduction in head count. Establishing new structures and operational delivery procedures across region with staff and partners. Manage budget of £20m with full P&L responsibility.

Land Securities Trillium Sept. 2002 – Dec. 2008
General Manager – DVLA Contract - Swansea

  • Mobilised the facilities management services for the DVLA contract in April 2004. Established operational team, client and service partner relationships along with all operational and reporting procedures. Full responsibility for ‘day to day’ facilities management service delivery and operational performance. 20 year contract (started April 04) with annual income of c£15M. 1m sq ft of accommodation managed including 38 buildings across UK many of which were multi-tenanted.
